Invitation to Submit Nominations for Membership in the Management Board of the National Culture Fund

Pursuant to Article 26 of the Act on the Protection and Development of Culture (APDC) and Article 6, paragraph 2 of the Statute of the National Culture Fund, this invitation is issued for the submission of nominations to fill vacancies on the Management Board of the National Culture Fund with:

  • Seven representatives to be appointed through a selection procedure for a term of two years, proposed by the governing bodies of creative unions and cultural organizations, ensuring balanced representation of various art fields;
  • One representative from academic institutions in the field of culture.

In accordance with Article 26, paragraph 1, item 3 of the APDC, the right to submit nominations is granted to the governing bodies of all creative unions, cultural organizations, and academic institutions in the field of culture.

Nominated candidates must meet the following requirements: possess higher education with an educational and qualification degree of at least “bachelor” and have a minimum of five years of professional experience in one of the following areas:

  • Arts;
  • Finance;
  • Management;
  • Law;
  • Economics;

Persons who cannot be members of the Management Board of the Fund include those who:

  • Have been convicted of an intentional criminal offense of a general nature, unless rehabilitated;
  • Have been members of an executive or supervisory body or unlimited partners in a company that was liquidated due to insolvency, if creditors remained unpaid, regardless of reinstatement of rights;
  • Are spouses or relatives by direct or collateral line up to the third degree inclusive, or cohabit with another member of the Management Board of the Fund;
  • Have been deprived or suspended from holding positions with financial accountability.

To verify the above requirements, candidates shall submit a declaration in a prescribed form and documents certifying education and professional experience to a technical commission appointed by the Minister of Culture.

Nominations must be submitted by April 7, 2025 (inclusive) in writing to the following address:

or by email to office@ncf.bg, via electronically signed documents or an electronic copy of a hand-signed nomination, including mandatory contact details (email and phone number) of the nominated candidate.
